Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) are important building blocks of connective tissue, including cartilage. GAGs, such as chondroitin sulfate, are necessary to help maintain healthy joint structures. Glucosamine sulfate stimulates the formation of GAGs and inhibits their degradation. In this way, glucosamine sulfate supports healthy cartilage formation. Clinical studies have shown that 6-8 weeks of glucosamine sulfate supplementation promoted healthy joint function and reduced tenderness and swelling.
