Mastic is a tree from which people have used the sap (resin) from the trunk to make medicine.  Mastic has been used for stomach and intestinal issues, and to help reduce stomach acid to protect the lining of the stomach and intestines.

Deglycyrrhizinated licorice root extract, or DGL, is used for various digestive system complaints including heartburn, colic, ulcers, and other maladies affecting the stomach lining.
