Product Description

Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a bio-identical acid amide synthesized by healthy tissue in response to inflammation. PEA has been scientifically shown to act as a Peroxisome Proliferator Alpha (PPA) agonist and naturally possesses anti-inflammatory, neuro-protective and anti-nociceptive (pain control) properties. This natural anti-inflammatory supports the nervous system and normalizes immune responses.

How it Works

As a non-psychoactive indirect endocannabinoid, PEA does not block pain signals like opioids or other analgesics, but instead enhances the G protein sensitivity of the CB2 receptor. The main effect is elicited by stabilization of microglial and mast cells' function, as supported by numerous studies. Microglial cells are crucial to the nervous system and can exert inflammatory responses on neurons. Mast cells are immune system cells that respond to chemical signals from tissue injury.

Take one capsule twice daily or as directed by your healthcare professional. For best results, take with food. For children, consult with a healthcare provider before use.

Note: In some cases, patients benefit from consuming four capsules a day for two-to-three weeks when starting a PEA regimen as an initial loading phase. Consult with your healthcare professional to determine whether to follow this regimen before starting twice-a-day dosing.
