Curcumin BCM-95 by Progressive Labs
Inflammation Support: Studies have shown Curcumin BCM-95 is a complete anti-inflammatory modulating all the agents involved in the complex process of inflammation, including cytokines, chemokines, adhesion molecules, growth factors and transcription factors such as NF-KB and AP-1, and a large number of kinases, notably the MAP kinases p38 and JNK. It is an inhibitor of histone acetyltransferases thereby preventing the transcription of inflammatory genes.
Curcumin is derived from turmeric, a spice that has been used to add color and flavor to foods since antiquity. Turmeric has been used as a wound healer, skin care agent, and treatment for colds, coughs, and flu for thousands of years. Today, curcumin is generating lots of interest in nutritional and medical research circles. It’s extremely rich in plant chemicals with potential medicinal value – in particular, polyphenols that impact the activity of enzymes and genes that regulate inflammation.
Curcumin BCM-95 is not just isolated curcumin, the active constituent of turmeric. It’s made by reconstituting curcumin with the non-curcumin components of the whole herb. This allows the synergistic elements contained in the whole herb to enhance the supplement’s overall effects.
Hundreds of human clinical studies demonstrate that Curcumin BCM-95 is 7 times more bioactive than regular extracts that contain 95% turmeric, and that it stays in circulating blood for a significantly longer period of time than other turmeric supplements. Curcumin BCM-95 also has an ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity) of over 13,000; standard turmeric extracts have an ORAC of only 2,000-4,000. This indicates that Curcumin BCM-95 is not just more readily absorbed and longer-lasting in the body – it also has 3-6 times more antioxidant power than other turmeric supplements.
Curcumin BCM-95 is prepared from turmeric rhizomes, using a proprietary standardized process. Curcumin BCM-95 contains a 95% curcuminoid complex composed of curcumin, demethoxycurcumin, and bisdemethoxycurcumin, in their natural ratios, along with turmeric essential oil. After the addition of the essential oil, BCM-95 contains no less than 86% total curcuminoids and 65% curcumin. The essential oil contains approximately 45% ar-turmerone.
